  4. This is the 0.91b version of "scan", a scanner driver which
  5. supports the UMAX Vista S-8 scanner. It may work with others,
  6. I just don't have any others to test it with. If you find a
  7. scanner which works, by all means, let me know. I've tested
  8. it on an Intel P5-90 as well as an '040 Cube, using my UMAX,
  9. without any problems.

  11. If you make a change to the software, please send the diffs
  12. to me (or the entire package) so I can update my "master"
  13. source. Feel free to hack away at the code. I've been
  14. working very slowly on a reorganization of the code, as
  15. this is still the very messy version.

  17. This software comes without any warrenty of any kind. If it
  18. messes up your machine or your scanner, I'm sorry... I can't
  19. do anything about that (but let me know what happened and
  20. I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen to anybody else).

  22. The documentation is very sketchy because I was in a rush to
  23. get this out (I promised a number of people I would get it out
  24. 4 - 6 weeks ago! Sorry!). Also, I've not include source, as
  25. the code will be undergoing a complete rewrite in the near
  26. future.
